Columbia Learning Center is proud to sponsor the Chance to Become Scholarship program. This is a very unique scholorship in that it targets non-traditional scholarship candidates and cannot be applied for. It is our hope through this program that more students receive a chance to obtain education beyond high school.

As of 2014, Columbia Learning Center has awarded 174 Chance to Become scholarships with a value of $875,000. Each scholarship is $5000 and awarded to the student over a two year period of time in $2500 installments.

Chance to Become scholarships have helped students attend Oregon State University, University of Oregon, Portland Community College, Concorde Career Institute, Lower Columbia College, Clackamas Community College, Eastern Oregon State College, Portland State University, Mt. Hood Community College, Brigham Young University and others.

The Chance to Become program is supported solely through anonymous donors and the Black Tie and Blue Jeans fundraising event.
