Our annual fundraiser, Black Tie & Blue Jeans Dinner, Benefit and Summer Social is usually held on the first Saturday in August, at the Deer Island Stock Ranch. Strong community support at this event has helped continue ongoing operations of Columbia Learning Center as well as provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships to area students.

This year the Columbia Learning Center Board has voted to take a one-year hiatus for Black Tie and Blue Jeans event. With the economy the way it is and so many other worthy causes out there, the Board looked at our finances and determined that we have sufficient reserves to continue with The Chance to Become Scholarship Program without a fundraiser for this year. Be ready for a blow out event in 2011! Of course we would love to have a cash donation for this year. It would entirely go to supporting the ongoing financing of The Chance to Become Scholarship program. Because of you, we were able to give 15 students in Columbia County $75,000 worth of scholarships. Donation may be sent to The Chance to Become scholarship P.O.
